We successfully implemented the “Youth Empowerment for Environmental Advocacy” project, funded by Youth and Environment Europe (YEE). The project was dedicated to equipping young individuals aged 18-30 with essential knowledge and practical skills to effectively engage in environmental activism, policy advocacy, and policy monitoring related to environmental sustainability.
A central component of the project was a comprehensive training session specifically tailored for youth participants. This training covered critical topics including environmental sustainability, advocacy strategies, digital activism, and effective communication skills. Utilizing non-formal and interactive educational methodologies, AFIS created an engaging learning environment, fostering active participation and peer-to-peer learning among the youth attendees.
Participants gained valuable insights into environmental challenges, climate action frameworks, and practical tools to monitor and influence local policies. Through collaborative exercises, group discussions, and hands-on activities, young participants were equipped with the necessary knowledge and skills to confidently engage in community activism and advocate effectively for environmental sustainability.
Furthermore, the project facilitated networking opportunities, allowing participants to build meaningful connections with peers, experts, and community leaders. This strengthened their ability to collaboratively advocate for sustainable practices within their communities.
